The Johannesburg Garden Club – one of the oldest in the country – is described as having the largest collection of the best gardeners (both professional and amateur) contained in any one garden club.

Monthly meetings are held on the first Wednesday morning, in some of the most beautiful gardens in Johannesburg, where members are entertained by leading gardening, environmental and other such experts. Tea is served, and homegrown plants are sold.  These venues dictate that membership be limited to 200 – but there is a waiting list!

Fund raising activities include –

  • an annual Spring Bulb sale for the members in April;
  • providing and selling Tea at one of our local antique auctions each week;
  • opening members’ gardens to the public.

The Johannesburg Garden Club gives its members the opportunity to make friends with like minded people who love gardening, whilst helping the children of Johannesburg Child Welfare. Each year we endeavour to increase our donation to Johannesburg Child Welfare and we are justifiably proud of our annual donation of R550 000 in March 2017.
